OPANA founded in 1979 is a component of the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) serving the perianesthesia nurses in Ohio and the Northern Kentucky area.
Our mission, like ASPAN's is to unite perianesthesia nurses to promote quality care for our patients and the community through the exchange of knowledge for public and professional education, research evidence, and standards of practice.
OPANA has seven districts with Cincinnati (CAPANA) and Dayton (DAPANA) in the southern area, Columbus (COPANA) in the mid portion, and Toledo (NOPANA), Cleveland (GCPANA), Akron/Canton (NEOPANA) and Warren/ Youngstown (WYPANA) districts representing the northern part of the Ohio component.
Northern Kentucky is in close proximity to the Cincinnati district and many nurses working in hospitals or surgery centers do attend monthly meetings and are members of CAPANA.
We are updating this website with more Member Information, District News, and will have a new "Snooze News" posted, so check back often and share information with your co-workers.
For membership information click on the ASPAN button in the browser above for a direct link to the ASPAN website.
OPANA, in an effort for going green, is now posting the current 2009 OPANA Bylaws on the "member's corner" web page for you to read and download if you wish. Certification updates and member news will be placed at this location also.
